• Mentorship

Thank you for taking the time to consider volunteering as a mentor for our Geospatial Curriculum project at Building 21 High School in Allentown (265 Lehigh Street).  Our project is supported by the National Science Foundation ITEST Grant program and seeks to effectively integrate geospatial technology into science and social studies 9th grade classrooms.  We currently have seven investigations scheduled at the high school and three projects.  We need professionals willing to serve as mentors for every event!  You will be working with small groups of students (3-5 usually), using ipads, and providing background information on technology and how it relates to both the immediate content and the workplace. Data gathering for most projects will take place outside and around the school, analysis will be in the classroom using student laptops and web-based ArcGIS services.  Further information on each of the investigations is linked below.

If you’re interested in signing up to help out please e-mail Dr. Kate Popejoy and click here to add your name to the schedule at your preferred timeslot.
